Terrelle Pryor’s MCL sprain has his status for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans in doubt. With the Raiders down to one quarterback on their current roster in Matt McGloin if Pryor can’t go, the Raiders are left in a situation where they may need to grab a quarterback in case of emergency.
The logical move would be practice squad quarterback and fourth round draft pick Tyler Wilson, who has been waiting to join the fulltime roster after being the odd man out of the Pryor, McGloin, Flynn training camp battle. Wilson does hold the drawback of being a potential target of a waiver wire claim from a team desperate for a quality quarterback (Green Bay comes to mind) but could easily be put back onto the roster if Pryor’s MCL sprain is more serious than being reported.
CSN Bay Area analysts Bill Romanowski and Lorenzo Neal think the answer comes from a more divine path.
They think it is Tebow Time for the Oakland Raiders.
In the video from CSNBayArea.com the former Raider and San Diego Charger talked about the Raiders lack of red zone punch costing them the win on Sunday in New York and when talking about emergency quarterbacks they brought up the infamous Florida quarterback and former Denver Bronco.
It is very possible that Romanowski and Neal were joking around in an attempt to stir the pot. I guess we can thank them for the Tebow Nation pageviews, but I don’t think we are going to be seeing quarterback Jesus in Silver and Black anytime soon.
In other news Jack Cornell was waived once again. So there could be a roster move within the next 24 hours. My money is on Tyler Wilson.
