Oakland Raiders-Tennessee Titans: Terrelle Pryor active, will be Matt McGloin's backup

Terrelle Pryor is ready to be a backup quarterback this afternoon, his injured knee coming along enough to be cleared to be the backup for Matt McGloin. Pryor was demoted after starting eight games this season, losing out to McGloin as the Raiders are getting another look at the undrafted rookie underdog out of Penn State University.

McGloin got an opportunity last week with Pryor out with a sprained MCL and took over the starting job with three passing touchdowns in a road win over the Texans. The Rookie of the Week for Week 11 also earned a second straight start on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans at the Oakland Coliseum, an interesting clash of two 4-6 teams.

Pryor was a limited participant in this week’s practice, but he was ruled healthy enough to go after being questionable on the injury reports heading into Sunday.

Raiders coach Dennis Allen said Pryor could play at times this season in a package specifically tailored to his talents. Something that could give Greg Olson a nice change of pace to throw at the Titans this afternoon.

With Pryor healthy, rookie quarterback Tyler Wilson is inactive after being added to the Raiders roster from the practice squad last week. Receiver Denarius Moore, running back Darren McFadden, safety Tyvon Branch, guard Lamar Mady and defensive end Jason Hunter will also sit out against the Titans this afternoon.

Full Inactive List:
