Charles Woodson says he wants to return to Oakland for 2014 season on 95.7 The Game

Oakland Raiders safety Charles Woodson’s return to the team that drafted him after winning the Heisman at Michigan and where he was one of the best safeties in the NFL was bound to be one of the top feel good stories of the Raiders 2013 season. Woodson, who in his old age by NFL standards could have been excused for missing a step, has made several big plays this season and even winning AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors for returning an NFL record tying defensive touchdown in a win against the San Diego Chargers.

Woodson’s return has been pretty special even if the Raiders have been in the midst of a losing streak and saddled with a 4-9 record, but on Thursday’s The Wheelhouse on Bay Area radio 95.7 The Game, Woodson gave some news that will make Raider fans even more excited for the 2014 season.

The Raider legend dropped the news that he wants to come back for the 2014 season.

Woodson told The Game that the best part of his return has been the fans and that he wants to play in 2014, but the only place where he would want to continue his career is in the place he left on the path to winning a Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers. Having completed everything there is to do in the game of football, the future Hall of Famer put it out there that he wants to end his career as a Raider.

The Raiders season at this point might be one that fans are down on, but seeing Woodson playing for the Raiders has been one of the more special parts of Sundays this NFL season. Woodson feels that the team is headed in the right direction for next season and likely wants to end his career by bringing the Raiders back to the playoffs, something everybody would say would be a fitting end to one of the best football careers in recent history. Whenever he does decide to retire, it will hopefully be as a Raider.
