#2 St Louis Rams: Derek Carr, QB Fresno

Rory’s Take: This is the sort of quarterback that Jeff Fisher will want. He can throw downfield, he is accurate, and he doesn’t take too many risks. I am concerned about how he throws off his back foot too frequently and the lack of progressions he went through at Fresno, but he has the upside. The trade of the RG3 pick is now culminating in the Rams getting their franchise quarterback. There is a chance that Bradford is cut or traded.

Chase’s Take: I hope this doesn’t happen because I have Carr at the top of my board for the Raiders, but the Rams are set at pass rush and Carr is as good as anybody in the draft. With Bridgewater off the board this seems like a good call for the Rams who just can’t rebuild with Bradford’s contract on the books. Which if they pick Carr they will have to do because I just can’t see the former Oklahoma QB tutoring Carr just so the Rams can cut him after one season and cost him piles of money. If St. Louis goes QB early they will be doing so having faith their starter can play Week One of the 2014 season.
