Add a veteran QB through free-agency

The Raiders should also be looking to add a veteran QB through free agency to come in a start if needed, as Reggie has stated that he would like to sit a rookie QB his first year for him to grow and be more accustomed to the NFL.

A proven veteran like Schaub could come in and mentor a pocket passer like Carr and be the stop-gap QB for a year if they chose to sit Carr or any other rookie QB.

Although he is coming off a terrible season, Schaub has proven that he can be an effective starter for a good team in recent history and is still relatively young at 32.

Other options here include Michael Vick, Josh Freeman and Matt Cassel.
