In 2013 the Raiders made a good move last year signing versatile and underrated MLB Nick Roach in Free Agency. While I do not see Roach being replaced, a move to a Hybrid Defensive Scheme could have the Raiders looking for more bodies at Inside Linebacker. I’m taking a look at both 3-4 and 4-3 Inside Backers who could help a Raiders Defense take the next step in 2014.

#1. Karlos Dansby

Age: 32 (Turns 33 in November)

2013 Stats:  16 games, 122 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 4 INT’s, 2 TD’s

Career Stats: 152 games played, 1007 tackles, 38 sacks, 15 INT’s, 4 TD’s

A good fit if….: You need a savvy veteran to help a young defense adjust to a Hybrid Scheme…

The return of Karlos Dansby helped solidify a talented Arizona Cardinals defense last year. Last year was supposed to be a “Curtain Call” for Dansby, but instead he produced at an elite level, and showed there is plenty left in the tank. At 32 years old, Dansby could be the perfect compliment in a Hybrid 3-4/4-3 mix, and could help speed up the adjustment period.
