NFL free agency will begin this afternoon, but the fine folks at the NFL Network are dedicating a whole day of coverage to the biggest day of the NFL offseason (save for maybe the NFL Draft) and the Raiders name has came up.
During their segment on the Raiders, where Reggie McKenzie was under fire by the NFL Network team and Raiders target Rodger Saffold was called “The Danny Amendola of left tackles” by Mike Silver there was actually some potential names thrown out as one of the panel members dropped Packers defensive tackle BJ Raji as a potential target of Reggie McKenzie’s.
Sounds like the Raiders are interested in making a play for BJ Raji, per some guy on @nflnetwork who they refused to lower third.

Raji is an interesting name because of his obvious long connections with McKenzie dating back to his days with the Green Bay Packers, which is a common theme in McKenzie acquisitions. Whether or not Raider Nation feels that just bringing in “his guys” will lead to success, McKenzie obviously feels comfortable spending money on players he knows so this is a rumor that has some legs because it makes sense. If Oakland winds up losing Lamarr Houston to the Chicago Bears (or another team) on the open market then Raji’s name me be coming up a lot around Oakland on the first day of free agency.
