The Cap Casulaties continue in the first day of Free Agency.
The Bears have released eight-time pro bowler Julius Peppers, who was scheduled to make $13,900,000 according to overthecap.com.
Peppers registered 7.5 sacks last season, and at 34 years old can still be productive in a 4-3 defense.
At this stage in his career Peppers could be looking for a team competing for the Super Bowl. Teams like the Broncos, Patriots, and his old team the Panthers could be options.
For a team like the Raiders, bringing in as many pass rushers as possible would be a smart move. Especially in a Pass Heavy AFC West, that includes Peyton Manning, Phillip Rivers, and Alex Smith.
But questions remain, what defense the Raiders will be running in 2014. Dennis Allen has hinted at a Hybrid Defense, with a lot of 3-4 looks. Julius Peppers may not fit the New Look Raiders. Stay tuned.
