The Cleveland Browns have cut both Jason Campbell and Brandon Weeden.
Weeden a 1st round pick from the 2012 NFL Draft, never proved capable of becoming a starter in Cleveland. Weeden is also 30 years old, despite only playing two years in the NFL.
Weeden started 5 games for the Browns in 2013, throwing for 1,731 yards, 9TDs, 9 interceptions and a 52.8 passer rating.
Jason Campbell a sentimental favorite from his days in Oakland, fared well in his 8 starts for the Browns. Throwing for 2,015 yards, 11TDs, 8 interceptions and a 56.8 passer rating.
Neither player should be on the Raiders radar as a starter, but Jason Campbell could prove to be a competent veteran QB, should Raiders miss out on other Free Agent QB’s.
Both Matt Schaub if released and Michael Vick have been linked to the Raiders. Josh McCown recently signed with Tampa Bay.
