Oakland Raiders Vance Walker has yet to sign with Kansas City despite reports

Earlier on Friday morning it was being thrown out there that after a visit with the Kansas City Chiefs that 2013 Oakland Raiders defensive lineman Vance Walker would be heading from the Black Hole to the Chiefs Kingdom, but it turns out that those reports were false according to Walker’s agent (JBB did not report the initial development).

The initial report came from Pete Dougherty of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. Dougherty tweeted the news out early on Friday.

There is a crowded defensive line in Oakland and although Walker can be an effective depth piece, there is a good chance that Reggie McKenzie still wants to land a defensive tackle after losing out on the Jason Hatcher sweepstakes. I am sure Raider fans would be happy to see Walker skip Kansas City, one because of spite, and two because Walker has the potential to be a quality contributing player wherever he chooses to go. If he doesn’t stay Raider fans will breathe easy and share a little laugh if he winds up spurning the rival Chiefs for another destination.
