Oakland Raiders to meet Teddy Bridgewater after Pro Day

The Oakland Raiders may have been less busy than expected over the weekend when it comes to free agency, but Raiders head coach Dennis Allen was quickly back to work on Monday except the attentions were on the draft as Allen and members of the Raiders front office attended Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater’s pro day on Monday morning.

Following Bridgewater’s pro day, which earned conflicting reports after the highly touted prospect missed on some of his throws in the glorified gym session in front of NFL scouts, GM’s and coaches the Raiders reportedly the first in line to meet with Bridgewater per RosterWatch.

Pro Day meetings can be overrated and meaningless as every team that is in the range to pick a prospect is likely to do their due diligence and organize a meeting with the player after his pro day or at the combine at some point of the draft process, but it is interesting that the Raiders were first in line to get a meeting in with Bridgewater. Lacking a franchise quarterback there is still a possibility that if their guy falls to the fifth spot they will still take a shot at a passer, Bridgewater appears to be the best prospect available of the quarterbacks in this draft so it is likely that if he somehow falls that Reggie McKenzie and Dennis Allen would be seriously interested in drafting him. You just never know.

    No Teddy

NO QB’s in the top ten picks. I don’t want to waste the 5th pick on the next Aaron Brooks.

Why would you? The value here is not diminished in the later rounds at the qb position. Pick any of the two OL, Mack or Watkins. Special talent is worthy of a top 5. BTW, Bridgewater drop to 196LBS!!! at 6’3 that looks ridiculous.

Its probably to distract the other teams in need of a QB
