Report: DJ Hayden Could be Out Until Training Camp

More tough news for DJ Hayden, who since being drafted by the Raiders has continued to struggle with injuries.

A report from Kevin Patra of indicates Hayden foot injury could limit him until training camp.

“It now appears that Hayden’s injured right foot — which he rolled several weeks ago — might be more serious than originally expected. The injury could keep the second-year defensive back out until training camp.”

The Raiders hoped to count on DJ Hayden having a breakout sophomore season after a lackluster rookie campaign. Any set backs would be devastating for the young player, who has already overcome so much.

While the news could be more a pre caution on behalf of the Raiders coaching and medical staff, recent history has shown a walking boot is never a good sign for a player.

    Lame, horrible news! Go Raiders

I feel bad for the guy. He pushes it so hard and this happens. It sucks. Hopefully it’s more precautionary than anything else, but this looks like the Menelik Watson thing all over again.

I feel bad for DJ, but mostly pissed at the Raiders for reaching when they need to make solid no risk picks to get out of the hole they keep digging. DJ was a questionable draft choice, especially in the first round. Maybe take a chance on the 3rd round on a player with health questions like that.
