The NFL may be in the slow period between OTA’s and minicamp, but the sports world luckily has a quality distraction from the lack of big NFL news as the World Cup group stages are in full swing as the United States Men’s National Team kicks off their 2014 WC campaign in Brazil this afternoon against Ghana.
With the Americans prepping to represent the country, athletes from all over the USA have been showing their support for the USMNT including the Oakland Raiders as Marquette King along with Rod Streater took time to take part in a video message for San Jose Earthquakes striker Chris Wondolowski wishing the USMNT good luck in Brazil.
Rod Streater also tweeted his support leading up to the World Cup opening match last week, reciting the “I Believe” chant the USMNT fans (along with ESPN) have made popular.
I believe I believe that I believe that we I believe that we will win I believe that we will win I believe that we will win #TeamUSA

The World Cup is one of the world’s biggest sporting events and whether you are a full time “futbol” fan or just want to support your country in the tournament it is hard to ignore the love that sports fans have for their country’s national team leading up to the tournament. Even athletes themselves can’t help but join the fun and excitement, including the Raiders.
