If you felt like the Raiders 2014 preseason felt all too familiar to last season you are definitely feeling deja vu even more as the expected veteran starter for Oakland Week One against the New York Jets is experiencing arm issues late in the push towards September.
Schaub, who has been struggling all of August during the first three preseason contests, told the Raiders that he has been experiencing soreness with his elbow which led to him missing practice on Sunday.
Matt Schaub has elbow soreness, Dennis Allen says. He’ll be evaluated daily. Allen says he’s not concerned that it’s a serious issue.

Allen spoke of the issue during Sunday’s press conference following practice, saying that Schaub is day to day and the injury isn’t being considered as serious just yet.
“He came in yesterday afternoon with a little soreness in his elbow, so we gave him the day off,” Allen said. “We’ll see where he’s at tomorrow and kind of take that day by day.”
Regardless to how serious Schaub’s injury is, it is concerning that the veteran is feeling as if his arm is failing him early on in the season. With critics always mentioning the lack of velocity on Schaub’s passes these days, Raiders fans will be concerned that their expected starter is already feeling discomfort.
