Most know by now that a group of Oakland Raiders fans welcomed the San Diego Chargers team bus to the Oakland Coliseum in a juvenile way, taking it back to high school by throwing eggs at the visiting team as they arrived on Sunday afternoon for their AFC West rivalry game. San Diego got the last laugh with a 31-28 win in what was one of the better games on Week 6 of the NFL season, but the talk on the internet seemed to be the Raiders fans throwing eggs at the Chargers bus.

As expected, Twitter and sports blogs had a field day with the egg throwing incident. Painting Raiders fans in a negative light for a pretty harmless prank that has been the staple of sports fans for years. (God forbid fans throw eggs when San Francisco fans are paralyzing fellow Niners fans in bathrooms)

In the end the Raider Nation throwing eggs at a bus is pretty timid when you look at the things that happen at sporting events throughout the world each week, including fan violence and fans even going as far as lighting off flares in the crowd during Champions League matches recently. It may lack class and it may be immature, but for those who got on their moral high horse over egg throwing on Sunday: lighten up a little.
