Chuck Bresnahan has got to go! The last straw has been drawn. The last trouncing has been he’s fault once again. How many times have we had the lead this season and somehow, some way, we let the opposing team back into the game. It wasn’t our offense, for the most part, it was our defense. It is enough to drive any Raider fan to drink!

Last time Chuck was in town in 2003, we got rid of him. Now he’s back and is doing the same things that got him fired. I don’t know what goes through Chuck’s head during a game, but stomping the crap out of an offense is not one of them.

There are many liberated coaches out there who would probably come work for the Raiders like Jack Delrio, Todd Haley, ANYONE! We have a freshman’s chance at hooking up with the prom queen (aka making it to the playoffs) and we are still entertaining this joke of a defense coordinator. Please Hue, ditch this dude and get us into the playoffs! I mean, we were beat by ONE wide receiver last week. One dude beat our whole defense!

The time is now fire Chuck Bresnahan!

John Herrera just can’t leave well enough alone.

Yesterday Robert Gallery announced he and the Raiders “mutually” agreed to part ways. It was widely assumed this was a business decision. It’s pro football. It’s a business. We all know that the term “mutually” usually means “money related”.

Whatever. That’s the way these things go.

Gallery thanked Al Davis. He expressed his gratitude for the support of Raider Nation. And that was that.

We know dude underachieved as a left tackle. We know he was a bust. But we also know he did whatever the team asked of him. Changed positions, played hurt and gave it his all. He didn’t sulk. He didn’t complain. He did his job, connected with the community and when it was all over and done with he went out with class.

But leave it to Herrera to air all of the dirty laundry behind the scenes as he told the Chronicle exactly what the “mutual agreement” was.

“The only thing that was mutually agreed upon is his numbers were way out of line with ours.”

Failure has a name. That name is JaMarcus. (Photo: YardBarker.com)

For JaMarcus Russell, becoming an NFL bust was not a problem. His innate ability to be lazy, lethargic and uncommitted appeared to come with ease. The kid was a natural, stealing millions from Al Davis and rubbing it in the collective face of Raider Nation.

Come to find out, Russell was anything but a natural. He was cheating all along.

In lieu of his arrest, the world has discovered that Russell’s lethargy addiction was not a result of his dedication to nothingness. Instead, JaMarcus was using performance detracting drugs all along.

Cam Inman cites an ESPN report on the effects of Russell’s drug of choice.

ESPN’s Mark Fainaru-Wada recently did an insightful, investigative report on codeine syrup’s use among athletes, and one Houston narcotics officer noted that it can be a harder addiction to break than marijuana, cocaine or heroin.

“The high is not a euphoric high where you would think you’d be bouncing off the walls,” officer John Kowal said in that “Outside The Lines” report. “It is more of a mellow, ‘Hey, I’m going to take-the-edge-off type high and I’m going to lay back, I’m going to kick back, I’m just going to sip some syrup and everything is going to be right with the world.’ ”

Mellow? Russell? Absolutely. Always.

Russell’s penchant for the “Purple Drank” has taken his busted legacy to a whole new level. There was once a point in time where one could actually argue that Ryan Leaf was the bigger bust due to the fact that he failed not only on the field but in life as well. Now, JaMarcus has officially gained Leaf status.

While Cryin’ Leaf preferred the prescription pills, Russell chose the over-the-counter approach to feed his habit. Despite taking two very different paths, both Russell and Leaf have put themselves on the same course – a one way ticket to the land of the forgotten.

This is where Russell’s woeful legacy appears to have finally reached its conclusion.

For whatever its worth, by gaining Leaf status with his arrest, Russell has also officially overtaken the former San Diego Dolt as the biggest but in NFL history. This is no longer up for debate of any kind.

Leaf actually got another couple NFL gigs before finally being forced out of pro football. Leaf even waited a few years until after his career was over before opening his criminal account.

Not JaMarcus! All it took was being removed from the teat of Uncle Al to send Russell on his spiral to oblivion.

Most disappointing of all is that Russell’s status as the biggest bust in NFL history was not attained on his natural inabilities alone. Nope, even for that he needed sizzurp just to maintain his malaise.

Congrats, JaMarcus! Not only have you both simultaneously attained and surpassed Leaf status, you’ve even gained the most coveted title of all – No Talent Ass Clown!
