According to usatoday.com Joe Flacco will play Johnny Unitas in an upcoming film. That got me thinking, what if the Oakland Raider’s hit the big screen? The history of the franchise is one filled with many stories worth telling. So I compiled a list of movie ideas for any big time Hollywood producers looking to stir up an Autumn Wind.

5. “Back to Bo” Genre - Drama Rating – PG-13

A young Raider’s fan and a crazy professor travel back in time to a 1990 playoff game. After saving Bo Jackson’s career the time traveling duo arrive home to find Oakland as the home of 8 Lombardi trophies. Unfortunately Jackson loses his family due to his busy sports career. In the end Jackson and our young Raider fan go back and change things back to normal for the family man. The movie stars Tyler Perry as Bo Jackson, Tom Hanks as the crazy professor, and Emma Watson as the young Raider’s fan. The movie is directed by Tyler Perry.

4. “A Paranormal Practice” Genre – Horror Rating – R

A losing football team must struggle to keep it together as bizarre events happen in the locker room. The entire movie is found footage (Cloverfield, Paranormal Activity, Quarantine) filmed by wide receiver Jacoby Ford, along with Security footage from the Oakland facility. The Quentin Tarantino directed movie would include doors slamming shut to players being ripped apart limb by limb. Whatever you do don’t turn the lights off!

3. “Project Snake” Genre – Comedy Rating – R

This movie follows the crazy adventures of Kenny “the snake” Stabler. Known for his Joe Namath-like partying the Snake knew how to have fun on and off the field. Stabler would be played by Bradley Cooper in this Blue Mountain State-like comedy. The movie would be directed by “Project X”‘s Nima Nourizadeh.

2. “Pirates of the East Bay” Genre - Action/Adventure Rating – PG-13

This film would be centered around the Renegade Raiders of the 70s. The movie would follow the outcast players through their epic playoff runs and heroic activities off the field. Main characters would include Phil Villapiano as the crazy guy, George Atkinson as a Mr. T-like character, Ken Stabler as the smooth guy, and Al Davis as the leader. Imagine the A team meets football. Directed by James Cameron.

1. “The Al Davis Saga” Genre – Bio Rating – PG13

Following Davis from his earliest days as a boy watching the Yankees and Dodgers to his final week in Houston. This movie displays the great list of accomplishments and the daring achievements from one of football’s finest. John Madden would play a big role in the film and be portrayed by Frank Caliendo of course. Davis would be played by Mad Men’s Jon Hamm while the film would be directed by none other than Steven Spielburg.

Feel free to comment any of your own ideas!

Greetings Raider Nation! Do you remember the last time our offense was feared? How about 2002? Yes, a freaking decade ago! In the last few years, our offense has been very good but not feared like it was when we last went to the Super Bowl. The type of offense we ran happened to be the tongue twisting West Coast Offense.

I remember those times fondly even though it was ten years ago. It was a time where Rich Gannon would dismember a defense with a vast talent of receiver options comparable to what we have in camp now. Consequently, we haven’t had a quarter back the caliber of Gannon till now. No, I did not just compare Gannon to Carson Palmer, oh wait, I kind of did. (I guess I mean a “legit” and “capable” quarterback.)

Rich Gannon

Carson Palmer must lay awake at night reflecting on the many options he will have to throw at this season. Two all star caliber running backs in Darren McFadden and Marcel Reece that can catch as good as any wide receivers in the league. A wide receiver pool who is as fast and is as young as any team in the NFL. A rookie wide receiver turning heads at OTA’s named Juron Criner who seems to catch everything thrown at him with ease. (Take notes DHB.) Another rookie WR named Rod Streater who has coach Dennis Allen real giddy and other WR’s like Luis Murphy petrified for there football life. A developing tight end with speed and hands named David Ausberry who owns the job as of now. If you see Carson smiling a lot this off season, you will know why.

Our new and progressive offense may not be 100% west coast style, but you will see flashes of what made us great a decade ago. Our skill players measure up to what we had in 2002, and Greg Knapp will have our offense flowing like a cool mountain stream. Gone are the days of run, run, fling it deep. Our offense will be more explosive, multifaceted, and less predictable. Defensive coordinators you have been put on notice! I look forward to this season, more then I have in almost a decade.

Long Live the Raider Nation.

What Richard Seymour did to Ben Roetlisberger on Sunday was a punk move. Plain and Simple. There is no room in the game for such selfish acts and there is no excuse for a team leader to behave as such.

I’m not calling Seymour a punk. Just saying what he did was a punk move. Until Sunday he was making waves for his All-Pro play this season. Now, this infamous moment of madness will be the staring point for any conversation revolving around this year.

As a veteran leader of the defense, Seymour has an obligation to his teammates. That obligation states that at no point will he put himself above the team. Until Sunday Seymour had been a team player. Could you imagine Nnamdi Asomugha doing something like this? He never would. Not that Nnamdi’s soft, he just knows that he’s more valuable to his team on the field than he is watching from the locker room.
