In case you didn’t already know it, Al Davis loves speed. The latest installment of the Madden series confirms Davis’ affinity for the stopwatch. No less than 19 Raiders are rated at a 90 or higher in the speed category on Madden 12. You can see the full list of the Raiders’ ratings here.

Leading the way are Jacoby Ford and rookie DeMarcus Van Dyke who are both rated at 98. In case you’re wondering Louis Rankin is the slowest of the fast bunch with a rating of a mere 90.

As you might expect the DBs are the group with the most speed. 9 defensive backs are rated between 93 and 98. The next closest group is the receivers with 6 players in the 90s. The running backs have a total of 4 with Marcel Reece on the outside looking it at 89.

The numbers are slightly skewed what with Nnamdi Asomugha and Johnnie Lee Higgins still on the Madden roster. Still there’s one more member of the 90 and over club that isn’t yet on the roster. One Terrelle Pryor who is sure to be among the rarest of all in Al’s collection – a quarterback with 90+ speed.

Losing never felt so good. For a man with a brief history of injury problems the last thing Darren McFadden needed was to be voted onto the cover of Madden 12.

EA Sports put together a March Madness style tournament to decide who will grace to cover of Madden 12. McFadden (a 16 Seed) lost out to crybaby Philip Rivers in round one.

Thank goodness!

Rivers can have the victory and the increased odds of missing the next season due to injury.

If he can stay healthy, Run DMC is one of the most electrifying players in the game. So this loss cannot be seen as anything but a good thing. The long history of those that have gone from Madden cover boy to injured is more than enough reason to be toasting to the success of Rivers and all those bandwagon Charger fans that gave him 67% of the vote.

Congrats, San Diego!

Whenever we get football again you’re one step closer to seeing another season of underachievement. At least this time you can blame Madden instead of Norv Turner…but first Crybaby is going to have to get by Adrian Peterson in round two.
