Last Sunday the Oakland Raiders put the rest of the league on high alert as Nnamdi Asomugha was taken off the leash and allowed to shadow Larry Fitzgerald for most of the game. This coming Sunday Andre Johnson is slated to be the next in line to get an afternoon filled with frustration. However, the All-Pro receiver is going to be a game-time decision due to a high-ankle sprain.

Maybe Johnson is getting cold feet after seeing how Nnamdi harassed Fitzgerald like Mel Gibson does Ukrainian pianists. Fitzgerald managed just one catch on Nnamdi and two catches overall during the contest.

The much improved Raider defense is boasting of some impressive numbers but don’t tell that to Tommy Kelly who values wins over statistics.

“You’re still walking off the field with your head between your legs, you’re so hurt because you lost. I mean, we’re getting better. Y’all can see that, we can see that. But we got a long way to go before we’re a No. 1 defense.”

If Johnson is a go, he’ll make this the first real challenge the Raiders’ defense has faced as Houston boasts of top tier playmakers at the quarterback, running back and wide receiver positions.

Of course, if Nnamdi shadows Johnson you can pretty much cross Andre off that list. In four career games against the Raiders, Johnson has managed just 11 catches for 209 yards with one TD. Compare that to his 24 catches for 390 yards and 3 scores in 4 career games against the Kansas City Chiefs and you’ll see why Johnson would prefer to just sit this one out.
