Is it just me or is Warren Sapp abnormally bitter towards the Oakland Raiders? Dude comes across like the homecoming queen who got her heart broken the same night they placed that tiara on her head. Every chance he gets he’s bashing anything and everything about the franchise.

You hate the Raiders, Warren. We get it! We just don’t get why you keep running your mouth. Maybe he’s mad cause Al Davis never showed him Richard Seymour money. But that would have required Sapp to actually play with pride and become the locker room leader he was supposed to be.

Whatever it is that’s eating Sapp he took another precious moment of his life to take a few shots at the Raiders using Michael Huff as his target.

Let’s get something clear. I’m no fan of Huff Daddy. He’s had his moments that have made me eat some of my own words. Still his time in Oakland – which could be all but over – has been a disappointment. So disappointing that Sapp said it made him nauseous.

Sapp recalls the early days of Huff’s pro career in an interview on a Dallas radio station.

“I went so far with Michael Huff, and you can ask him this, that my last day in Oakland, I waited in the parking lot for Michael Huff. I waited in the parking lot because I wanted to talk to the young man because he made me want to throw up watching him practice. I mean, the scout team would complete ball, after ball, after ball. I’m like, ‘You’re not going to make one play? I mean, you’re not even going to put your hand on it and knock it down?’”

Disclaimer: If you happen to be a Bronco fan and are a glutton for punishment, please continue to read. The following post contains material that should be considered derogatory for anybody desperate enough to root for the Denver Donkeys. Reader discretion is advised.

If I’m dreaming then don’t wake me. If in fact this Sunday was just a dream then I’m hitting the snooze until Halloween.

Sunday’s 59-14 demolition of Denver was a seemingly never ending nightmare for Josh McDaniels. A nightmare Denver’s very own linebacker turned Disney mouthpiece Tom Jackson described as “pathetic”. Pathetic is underselling this Denver debacle. The Broncos didn’t have a Tim Tebow prayer against the Raiders. As comprehensive a win as you’ll ever see in the NFL, Tom Cable showed now mercy as his Raiders hung a franchise record 59 points on the scoreboard.

My only question is why not go for 60+?

That’s right, I’m that greedy. I was born and bred a Raider fan so when I see those ugly orange jerseys with the donkeys on the helmet I want blood! Apparently Cable feels the same way as he went for it on fourth and goal with a victory already in hand.

Just show no mercy, baby!

Denver fans, I’m not sorry to say that you deserved every minute of pain inflicted by a Silver and Black ball-hawking defense and an offensive line playing with a Jared Veldheer sized chip on its shoulder. From Zach Miller’s 43-yard jog to the endzone to Darren McFadden’s 57-yard scamper to paydirt, you donkey lovers had it coming.

Bronco dorks were telling anyone lonely enough to listen to their drunken rants that McDaniels was going to take this team to the top. If you thought being tied with San Diego after seven weeks would be a good thing then you thought wrong. Dead-last-wrong, in fact!

If Tom Cable were drowning, he wouldn’t accept a life preserver if it was thrown by JaMarcus Russell.

At least that is the message Cable sent to the football world when he chose to bench the $60-million mistake in favor of an NFL journeyman named Charlie Frye.

Cable’s job hangs in the balance and he’s betting his employment status on a man who hasn’t taken a snap in an NFL game in nearly two years. The Frye Guy becomes the third different quarterback to start for the Oakland Raiders in 2009 and if he’s not the last then J.P. Losman had better be sleeping with his playbook every night.

A year ago, Cable brought his interim title into Denver and gave Mike Shanahan and Jay Cutler a farewell gift. After a 31-10 Mile High massacre, the Broncos’ playoff hopes went the way of JaMarcus Russell’s job. That win helped to propel the Silver and Black to three wins in their final six games and allowed Cable to keep his office for another year, this time with the interim tag removed.

One year later, Cable finds himself in the same boat.

Oakland has nothing to play for except pride and bragging rights. When last the Broncos and Raiders met, it would be Josh McDaniels who enjoyed the last laugh in his first taste of this bitter rivalry.

Denver danced all over the Coliseum with an all-too-easy 23-3 victory back in September.

Now it’s time for Cable to return the favor.

As usual the Raiders are a two touchdown underdog which is the norm for Vegas odds makers. They were also two touchdown dogs against Philadelphia, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. How’d those turn out?

Coach Cable has shown the ability to get his team up for the big games but also has a knack for losing to lesser opposition. The Raiders were favorites at home against the Chiefs and were only a one point underdog against Washington last week. How’d those turn out?

This Sunday is a must win if Cable has any desire to be mic’d up on the Oakland sideline in 2010.

With three games remaining it would be ideal for the Raiders to run the table. This might be the only way to force the hand of Al Davis.

If Cable’s maverick moves result in the Raiders finishing with less than 10 losses for the first time in six years, then Davis will have no choice. He’ll be obligated to keep the Cable Guy around. If this team wins one of three or none at all, then Cable will need to get that resume updated.

A loss in Denver would give the Raiders 10-losses for the 7th straight year and would mean that at best Cable would only be able to improve this team by one win from a year ago.

Beyond the quest for a respectable record, there is a commandment to which Cable must adhere to.

Thou shalt beat thy rivals.

This is the only way to keep those paychecks coming. Cable beat the Chiefs in Arrowhead but has lost at home to Kansas City twice. Naturally, he hasn’t beaten the Chargers, but no Raider coach has accomplished that feat in six years.

When Cable crushed the Donkeys last year, he did so with JaMarcus Russell as his starter. Russell helped Cable get the job, now it appears he’s not the man to insure Cable keeps it.

At least that is the message Cable sent to his young QB this week.

If Cable can keep this franchise out of 11-loss hell, his bold moves will be praised. If he sinks into 10-loss purgatory, his job will be the bounty paid for his gambling losses.
