In Honor of Al Davis

The Raiders have been trying out different kick returners to replace the loss of Jacoby Ford, who was just cut by the New York Jets. The Raiders let him go because he lost his explosion to a lisfranc injury and according to the Jets cutting him, he still doesn’t have it back. The Raiders can upgrade the speed portion of Fords loss by picking Demps up off waivers by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In honor of deceased Raiders owner Al Davis, McKenzie has to give this one a try because he is electric with the ball in his hands. When it comes to his speed, let’s not even get into little 40 times because he is an Olympic sprinter with a sub-10-second 100 meter time. The man would help the return game with his speed and the Raiders could move him from running back to receiver as a project.

If you pull out some tape on him, he’s not just fast, he has shakes and can catch which is why I would make him a receiver-slash. Think of the upside as he’s never really dedicated himself completely to football as he trained for World Championship track events. Speaking of that, I would a commitment out of him for football so he can be developed into a Percy Harvin-type.

He already has better hands than Andre Holmes so that’s the roster spot he should take.
