Last year, Jets quarterback Geno Smith was 16-25 for 219 yards, had a touchdown passing and rushing and a quarterback rating of 88.6. And so far this year, Smith has looked very good in the preseason to make it look like he has made that jump from his rookie year to his second year. But make no mistake, Smith is still very unpolished as he looked good against the Raiders last year and the preseason because he didn’t have heat on him.

The Raiders didn’t have the personnel to put any kind of  heat on him last year but they have the personnel now. The overall result wasn’t good because the defense got no help from the offense but this year, in the third preseason game, (the dress rehearsal) the Raiders harassed Aaron Rogers into completing less than a 50 percent of his passes. Rogers did get his overall but he got help from the defense being on the field all day but don’t forget they was Rogers.

Geno Smith is no A-Rod.
