Mack’s contract

One of the biggest questions for the Raiders heading into training camp has nothing to do with a player performing on the field. The big question on everybody’s mind is what is going to happen with Khalil Mack’s contract, as it is starting to become a major issue as we enter July.

Mack is one of the best players in the NFL on either side of the ball, and is a guy who should be a Raider for life if he wants to. He has already sat out the entire offseason, and there are real thoughts that he may sit out training camp until he can get a new deal done.

It appears Mack wants to be with the Raiders, and the organization certainly knows the kind of player they have in him. Mack has already been an AFC Defensive Player of the Year, and at only 27-years old, his best years of football are still in front of him.

The organization did a nice job of bringing in players to take the pressure off of him in the pass rush this offseason, making his life a bit easier between the white lines. However, if they cannot get the job done in the front office, then Raider Nation could eventually see one of the best players in recent memory leave when his contract is up.
