Conley’s elite play

There’s a reason why Gareon Conley was taken in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft, but in case you’ve forgotten then he’s taken the liberty of showing you with his play these last few weeks. Conley finished the day with two solo tackles, two assisted tackles, and two pass deflections.

His presence may have been felt the most by looking at the box score for the opposing team, namely their top weapon. Antonio Brown finished with just five catches for 35 yards. Consequently it was JuJu Smith-Schuster that had a day, but more than enough opposing teams have been demolished by both wideouts.

On Sunday, Conley was a vital factor at bottling up Antonio Brown and if five catches for just 35 yards is the result, Oakland will take that win every chance they get. Conley has been playing lights out as of late and should solidify his role as a cornerstone for the future.
