Free agency: Top 5 needs for the Oakland Raiders to address

4. Middle Linebacker

The middle linebacker position in Oakland was a serious problem this past season, as they were never able to sign that veteran to lead Paul Guenther’s 4-3 defense. In 2017, NaVorro Bowman stepped in during the season and became a leader on the defense, but the Raiders could not get him back under contract.

Towards the end of the season, undrafted free agent Jason Cabinda took over as the starting middle linebacker, and while he is solid player, the position much be upgrade. Fortunately, there is a ton of talent at this position group in this free agency class, including a guy I believe they should break the bank on, C.J. Mosley.

Mosley plays with the kind of intensity that Raider Nation demands, and he is still so young. The Baltimore Ravens are going to do everything they can to bring him back, and if the Raiders cannot get him, there is also players like Cory Littleton and Kwon Alexander to fall back on.
