3. Positional need

When it came to the roster heading into  next season, there were few bigger holes than the one at wide receiver. Prior to this deal getting agreed upon, the Raiders had Jordy Nelson at the top of the depth chart, and guys like Marcell Ateman and Seth Roberts as the only players behind him with legitimate experience.

All of that changed on Saturday night, when the team agreed to a deal with arguably the best wide receiver of this generation. Antonio Brown not only slides into the top of the depth chart, but gives the Raiders another veteran alongside Jordy Nelson, in a move similar to when Gruden was here last in Tim Brown and Jerry Rice.

Now, Oakland has put an elite weapon alongside a very reliable veteran in Nelson, with some younger guys behind them. This move makes the Raiders offense so much more dangerous next season, and beyond, and you have to think if they can bring in one more body, they could have one of the more elite units in football.
