Cornerback

Gareon Conley, Daryl Worley, Isaiah Johnson, Trayvon Mullen, Nick Nelson, Nevin Lawson (6)

All of a sudden, the Oakland Raiders have incredible depth at cornerback, after drafting two guys this past month that should make the roster this summer. Second round Trayvon Mullen has the talent to start right away at the NFL level, and fourth rounder Isaiah Johnson is a bit of a project, but should be on the roster in 2019.

Last season, former first round pick Gareon Conley stepped up in a big way, proving to be one of the better cornerbacks in the AFC West once he got rolling. Conley will headline this packed cornerback group, which brought in a solid veteran this offseason in Nevin Lawson, and re-signed Daryl Worley, who played very well for the team in 2018.

During the 2018 NFL Draft, the Raiders selected Nick Nelson in the fourth round, and he is another guy who will get a long look this summer. Overall, this is the most excited I have been about the cornerback position in a long time, and I cannot wait to see what kind of combinations Paul Guenther puts together this summer.

Playing in the AFC West, you have to be good on the back-end, as the Raiders have to play guys like Patrick Mahomes and Philip Rivers twice a year. Oakland also will face Aaron Rodgers and Andrew Luck outside of the division in 2019, so bolstering this position group was a smart move.
