Oakland Raiders 2019 predictions for each regular season game
By Nick Ellis
Games 7 and 8
Game No. 7 at Houston Texans
The Raiders finish the away game stretch in Houston against the reigning AFC South champions. The Texans upgraded their pass protection by gaining Laremy Tunsil from the Miami Dolphins, and although they traded away Jadeveon Clowney, this trade could be a win if it can help take Deshaun Watson to the next level.
Without Lamar Miller, the Texans will have little success running the ball, but Deshaun Watson and Deandre Hopkins will prove too much for the Raiders defense, as Houston edges the Raiders in a shootout. Houston has a chance to return to the playoffs this season, and they will have a solid home game against a worn-out Raiders team.
Record 2-5
Game No. 8 vs. Detroit Lions
The Raiders finally get a game where they are favored, and they get to play in Oakland, as well. The Raiders take on the Detroit Lions in a game that they should have plenty of success all around. The Raiders will have no trouble dominating Matthew Stafford and the Lions offense, as well as getting the run game going early and often with Josh Jacobs.
The Raiders look as good as they have all season in this one, with things clicking on all cylinders. After a rough stretch, there is hope in Oakland again. This could be the start of an incredible run for the Raiders, as they are finally home for a while.
