2020 NFL mock draft: Raiders go all defense in the first round
By Nick Ellis
Round 3, Pick No. 92 (From Seattle Seahawks): Christian Rector, DE, USC
The Raiders’ draft class of defensive ends from last season has been solid, but they could always use more depth. Arden Key has been injured, but when on the field, he has not reach his full potential.
Christian Rector won’t be competing for a starting spot right away, but the USC product would be a solid addition to the defensive line. The change from the 2018 season to 2019 in terms of the pass rush has been monumental, and defensive line coach Brentson Buckner has sure been one heck of an addition.
In order for the Raiders to be competitive in the AFC, they have to be able to get after the quarterback, and they have done a nice job adding pieces since the end of the 2018 season. Imagine what a guy like Rector could bring to a defensive line that is suddenly becoming a strong point on this Raiders defense.
