John Hightower – Wide Receiver, Boise State

If the Raiders want to add speed at receiver in the later rounds, John Hightower out of Boise State could be someone to look at. Hightower not only possesses excellent speed but sudden quickness too in and out of cuts. He eats up defender’s space in a hurry and could quickly become an asset as a kick return for the Raiders if needed.

The combine will be a great chance for Hightower to show off that speed and quick he displayed at Boise State, and with such a deep receiver class, he could be a nice addition for the Raiders on day 3.

His lean frame (180lbs) is what could cause some concerns for teams as he will need to get used to press coverage in the NFL. But he will have time to get stronger, and what he offers immediately when he joins a team is the ability to stretch the field and make plays with the ball in his hands. Something the Raiders had very little of at the wide receiver position.
