Offensive Line

Tristan Wirfs, Iowa, Jr

  • Height: 6’5″
  • Weight: 320
  • 40-Yard Dash: 4.85 (1st)
  • Bench Press: 24 (24th)
  • Vertical Jump: 36.5 (1st)
  • Broad Jump: 121.0 (1st)
  • 3-Cone: 7.65 (5th)
  • 20-Yard Shuttle: 4.68 (8th)

You can’t dominate a combine much better than Tristan Wirfs did.  Not only did he run the fastest forty time at this years event at his position group, he set a combine record for offensive lineman in the vertical jump and tied the all-time record in the broad jump.

Already a projected round one pick, Wirfs could be in the conversation of a top ten pick after his efforts this past week. Many teams are looking for cornerstone offensive tackles, and in Wirfs, they would getting a guy who is ready to come in and start right away.

Ezra Cleveland, Boise State, RS-Jr

  • Height: 6’6″
  • Weight: 311
  • 40-Yard Dash: 4.93 (3rd)
  • Bench Press: 30 (5th)
  • Vertical Jump: 30.0 (11th)
  • Broad Jump: 111.0 (10th)
  • 3-Cone: 7.26 (1st)
  • 20-Yard Shuttle: 4.46 (1st)

Not has heralded as some of the other top tackles in the draft, what Ezra Cleveland accomplished last week at the combine was to force scouts to go back and look at his film a little more. Though he may not end up in the first round, Cleveland is going to be a Day 2 pick at this point, and could be a starting right tackle right away at the NFL level.

Cleveland started nearly every game during his time at Boise State, and has played on both sides of the line. For a team looking for a starter, and not willing to use a first round pick on an offensive tackle, this is the kid who should be one of the first off the board on Day 2.

Mekhi Becton, Louisville, Jr

  • Height: 6’7″
  • Weight: 364
  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.10 (13th)
  • Bench Press: 23 (25th)

Mekhi Becton makes the list purely on his size alone.  A mountain of a man, Becton measured in at 6 foot 7 inches and 364 pounds.  In addition to those numbers he has 35 5/8 inch arms and 10 3/4 inch hands.

The comp being used for Becton is Raiders right tackle, Trent Brown.  Did I mention Becton ran a 5.10 seconds in the forty yard dash.  That’s insane for a man that large. He was already ticketed to the first round prior to the 2020 Combine, but after his efforts, and watching his tape, a top-15 billing may be in order.
