As the new NFL year begins, the Las Vegas Raiders look to make their first move in signing inside linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski.

In a busy and eventful opening day of the Las Vegas Raiders look to make their first move in signing former Chicago Bears linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski. One of the team’s biggest needs heading into this season was linebacker, and it looks as if they are going to attack the position heavily.

With the release of Tahir Whitehead, the Silver and Black look to have made a deal that Kwiatkoski was happy with, as he has posted a picture of the new stadium on his twitter account.

It has not been reported that Kwiatkoski has signed yet, but with his social media post, expect the deal to be announced soon.

Although Kwiatkoski does not have incredible stats, he is much better than most know. Kwiatkoski had less time on the field than he deserved because of Bears linebacker Danny Trevathan, but when Kwiatkoski was on the field, he made a massive impact.

The linebacker recorded 76 total tackles, 3 sacks, and one interception for the Bears last year, so it is easy to imagine that his numbers would have been boosted tremendously had he had a bigger role.

The Raiders signing Kwiatkoski does not mean that the team will not target another top linebacker in free agency or the draft, in fact, it means that the Raiders are treating the position as a main priority and will likely look to continue to boost the position.

This signing will be great for the Raiders, as Kwiatkoski is a young, talented linebacker that should make an immediate impact for the team. Expect the Raiders to continue to add pieces to their defense in the next coming days, as they are tied to a ton of top free agents.
