The Las Vegas Raiders add two key pieces to their secondary during the first wave of free agency, and they will be expected to improve the defensive backfield.

With the linebacker position already addressed on Monday and Tuesday, the Raiders continued to add to the defense in free agency this week adding two players who should be major contributors in the secondary.

Jeff Heath and Eli Apple weren’t the top names in free agency but both have been solid NFL players with multiple years of starting experience under their belts. Their addition provides veteran depth in the secondary that struggled to put together complete games in 2019.

There is a reason why each player was available through free agency however and both can struggle at times. It will be up to Paul Guenther and the coaching staff to put them in the best position to maximize their talents.

Lets take a look at how each fits in the Raiders defense.
