Grant Delpit, S, LSU

Grant Delpit’s draft stock has fallen quite a bit since a few months ago, but that won’t stop a team from taking him late in the first round or early second round. The Raiders have the 19th pick in the draft, but there is a great chance they trade back into the second round, and if Delpit is there, they could take him.

Some believe safety is a position of need for the Raiders, but I disagree. With Johnathan Abram returning, Lamarcus Joyner having the ability to play safety, Erik Harris, and Jeff Heath on the team, I do not see safety as that big of a need.

In addition, the Raiders added Damarious Randall to the mix via free agency, and he is a versatile defensive back that has had success at safety in the pats. Finally, Delpit has his issues when it comes to tackling, and the Raiders cannot afford to bring in players who cannot make plays in the backend.
