Ranking the 10 best current Las Vegas Raiders players

6. Maxx Crosby, Defensive End

The second-year defensive end was a story to remember for the Raiders last season. “Mad Maxx” was a little known prospect out of Eastern Michigan when the Raiders selected him last year with one of their fourth-round picks.

Overshadowing top draft choice Clelin Ferrell, he led the Raiders with ten sacks, a staggering number when you consider as a whole, the Raiders only totaled 13 the year before. Crosby could be one of the better defensive ends in the NFL this season, and could be much higher on this list by year’s end.

5. Derek Carr, Quarterback

This one was the toughest to call, as the “Captain” actually had a very solid season last year. Sure, there were some moments that could have been better, but the fact is, he finished only second to Drew Brees in completion percentage, and set a career-high in passing yards.

Entering Year 7 in the NFL, and his third in Jon Gruden’s system, Carr has the potential to have a breakout season in 2020. With a ton of new weapons around him, Carr has what he needs to explode in 2020, and the playoffs could be in the cards for Carr and the Silver and Black.

4. Trent Brown, Offensive Tackle

The massive contract handed to the massive offensive tackle ended up being worth it in 2019, as Trent Brown followed up a Super Bowl-winning season in New England to anchor the Raiders tackle spot. Brown was named to the Pro Bowl, and he and Kolton Miller formed bookends for Carr.

The 6-foot-8, 380lbs tackle provided a very steady and impressive blanket at right tackle, as he made the switch from the left side the year before. Entering his second season with the Raiders, Brown is arguably the best right tackle in the game, and should be headed towards another Pro Bowl.
