Needing help on the defensive side of the ball, one has to wonder why the Las Vegas Raiders are not making any trades prior to the deadline.

With the recent trades across the NFL, especially for pass rushers, there is a big question within Raider Nation as to why the Las Vegas Raiders aren’t making any moves.

The Raiders pass rush has been pretty much non existent to this point, and the team is not doing anything to fix it. Whether you blame the defensive coordinator, the strength coach, or the players themselves, the defensive line is just not getting the job done this season.

As frustrating as the play on the field is, it is even more frustrating that the coaches do not seem to be doing anything about it. Jon Gruden did mention making some changes to develop a pass rush, but apparently it did not mean any changes to the coaching staff or the roster.

Other teams in the NFL are making moves to fix their issue before the trade deadline, and they are making them for basically no cost.

Solid players being traded for low returns

Carlos Dunlap, a player who would be the best defensive linemen on the Raiders, was just traded to the Seattle Seahawks for a seventh round pick and a backup offensive lineman. Everson Griffin, another player who would be the best player on this defensive line, was just traded to the Detroit Lions for a conditional 6th round pick.

As frustration among Raiders fans rises during these strange times, we have to ask ourselves why the Raiders front office is refusing to fix a massive problem on the team. The sad part is that we know the answer, but it is not good enough.
