Las Vegas Raiders stick with Derek Carr in latest 7-round mock draft

In the second round, the Raiders turn their attention to the interior of their defensive line, an area where they have struggled mightily since Gruden’s return. Sure, Maurice Hurst is a good player, and Johnathan Hankins has been great since putting on the Silver and Black, but the group as a whole just does not get enough pressure.

During the Senior Bowl, Levi Onwuzurike from Washington really stood out, and he would be someone who could come in and really improve this position group right away. Hurst will be back in 2021, and Hankins likely as well, but as we saw this past season, there just is not enough depth or talent at defensive tackle.

One of the bigger issues that plagues this Raiders defense is the fact that they cannot get any push up front, and that leaves the defensive backs out on an island due to the lack of pass rush. Onwuzurike is a rare player that can stop the run, and get pressure in the middle, so he would be a welcome addition to this front four.
