Las Vegas Raiders: 3 potential first-round prospects who could fall to No. 48

The second round has not been kind to the Las Vegas Raiders, so it would be nice if a top prospect fell into their arms.

The Las Vegas Raiders are inching closer and closer to the 2021 NFL Draft, and it will be a crucial moment in the Jon Gruden tenure.

The past few drafts have led to mixed reviews regarding this front office’s ability to evaluate talent, and now in year four, the room for error is shrinking. Las Vegas needs to make a playoff push this season, and to do so; they will need rookie contributions.

The first round must be a hit, but that usually goes without saying for every team. However, the team needs to do far better on day two than they have in recent years. Since 2014, when they hit on Derek Carr and Gabe Jackson, the Raiders have only had one player on day two that has become a viable starter, and that is Trayvon Mullen.

The Raider pick at No. 48 overall in the second round and that puts them in a nice spot to grab a quality top-50 player in this draft. With the way the draft tends to play out, there could be a few first-round level players who fall due to circumstance.
