The Las Vegas Raiders have a mostly young group of cornerbacks and we take a look at the position group ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Las Vegas Raiders rolled in to 2020 with a very young group of cornerbacks and that youth and inexperience began to show very quickly. The Raiders defense as a whole struggled but the defensive backs in particular really struggled to make any sort of impact throughout the season.

Rookie Damon Arnette was in and out of the lineup with injuries, slot corner Lamarcus Joyner continued to struggle as he was played out of position, and Trayvon Mullen showed flashes but was inconsistent at times. It is clear that major improvement is needed from the unit as a whole and from the minimal action in free agency, it looks like the Raiders are expecting internal improvement first.

The Raiders added a veteran free agent in Rasul Douglas this week but they may still have their eyes on a rookie that can come in and provide some depth to the group. Or they could surprise us all and use yet another early round pick on a corner that they can work in to the rotation immediately.

Let’s dive in to review the position group and discuss when we expect the Raiders to address the position in the 2021 NFL Draft.
