Raiders 2021 NFL Draft: Grades and More

The Las Vegas Raiders made Alex Leatherwood their first-round selection on Thursday night, bringing a lot of groans from Raider Nation on Twitter. Leatherwood was viewed as a possible second-round target, and with other higher-rated offensive linemen still on the board, he was another player seen as a reach.

However, he could end up filling a major void on this Raiders offensive line, and as we saw with Kolton Miller, it really does not matter what people think on draft night. There have been plenty of guys who were seen as great selections when the pick was made, and have struggled, so let us not rush to judgment.

On Day 2, the fireworks started early, as the Raiders traded up five spots to No. 43 and selected arguably the best safety in the draft class in Trevon Moehrig from TCU.

Grades

  • Round 1, Pick No. 17: Alex Leatherwood (Grade)
  • Round 2, Pick No. 43: Trevon Moehrig (Grade)
  • Round 3, Pick No. 79: Malcolm Koonce (Grade)
  • Round 3, Pick No. 80: Divine Deablo (Grade)
  • Round 4, Pick No. 143: Tyree Gillespie (Grade)
  • Round 5, Pick No. 167: Nate Hobbs (Grade)
  • Round 7, Pick No. 230: Jimmy Morrissey (Grade)

Make sure to continue to check our site as we move through the three-day event. The first round may not have gone the way most of Raider Nation would have liked, but Leatherwood was a proven player at Alabama, and the hope is that he can continue to bring a championship mentality to this Raiders locker room.
