Las Vegas Raiders: Predictions for the 2021 NFL Draft class

Round 4, Pick 143- Tyree Gillespie- S- Missouri

Tyree Gillespie was one of my favorites picks of the draft, as he was a player I could have seen the Raiders taking in the third round if they had passed on the position in the first two rounds. The Raiders have depth at safety, but there is nobody at the position that has been a standout in their NFL careers.

I love that the Raiders added a lot of depth at the position, especially with the reckless style of Abram that could lead to injury or just bad play. I could see Gillespie getting more playing time than expected. Now, if one of our safeties goes down, we will not automatically give up deep play after deep play.

I think Gillespie will sit behind a few guys for the start of the season, but will slowly make his way up the depth chart, and once he gets his opportunity, he will play well enough to stir up some questions about who the starter should be heading into 2022.
