Las Vegas Raiders who did not take advantage of opportunities in 2021

Bryan Edwards

When everything went down with the tragedy involving star-wideout Henry Ruggs III, the Raiders needed someone to step up on the outside. In fact, it was another 2020 draft pick that the team turned to in Bryan Edwards, a player with the size and speed to be an elite wide receiver at the NFL level.

Unfortunately, the production never really matched the ability for Edwards, and through his first few seasons in the NFL, he has struggled to play consistent football throughout. Even in 2021, when the team was down both Ruggs and Darren Waller for the majority of the second half of the year, it was Hunter Renfrow and not Edwards who became WR1 for this franchise.

During the 2021 season, Edwards did not have a single game where he had more than four catches, and he found the end zone only three times. Next season is Year 3, and a chance for him to break out and be one of the long-term players for this franchise, but the organization has to get more from such a physically-gifted player going forward.
