AFC West: Will the Las Vegas Raiders be the team to beat?
Nick Wright felt the wrath of Raiders fans this week
FS1’s Nick Wright, one of the most polarizing media personalities on television, gave his prediction for the AFC West recently. Needless to say, it didn’t go over too well with Raider Nation. Essentially, Wright has the Raiders finishing dead last with a 6-11 record, while the Chiefs will win the West at 12-5.
Keep in mind, though, that Wright is the man who has regularly bashed the Raiders. Whether it was stating that the team would never win a Super Bowl with Derek Carr or downplaying the Davante Adams trade, do consider the source.
There’s certainly something to be said about his prediction though. He has the Denver Broncos finishing ahead of the Raiders at 9-8. The Chiefs traded away their best offensive weapon in Tyreek Hill, but apparently, that doesn’t matter according to Wright. The Chiefs’ receiving corps will now be led by JuJu Smith-Schuster, Mecole Hardman, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
The team did draft Skyy Moore, who could be an X factor as a rookie, but none of these players strike fear the way Hill did the last six years. It’s going to take some time for the Chiefs to adjust without Hill, but by no means are they bottom dwellers or anything remotely close to that, despite what some Chiefs fans believed I said recently.
