Turn out the Lights, it’s over…

Well it’s over; the Oakland Raiders ended their season with a 30-17 loss to the San Diego Chargers.  I was looking for Don Meredith’s rendition of “Turn out the lights, the party’s over” (Willie Nelson) that he use to do when he ended Monday Night Football games in the 70’s and early 80’s, but I was unable to find the footage.  I did though find this version done by some Oklahoma Sooners’ fan, although random, he does a better job than Meredith.  The best way to end a season in failure is to forget what happened and to move on.  I can’t say it any better, or else they’re just going to “start this same whole thing over again.”  The Oakland Raiders need to establish some sort of foundation during this off-season.  They need to re-sign the players they need (Nnamdi Ausomugha), and fill the holes that need filling (right tackle, defensive tackle), but above all progress, and get it right next year; or at least get close, because I don’t know how they’re going to afford any free-agents drafting so many top 10 picks.
