No restrictions on Walker

Lane Kiffin said a couple hours ago that Javon Walker will not miss the start of Oakland Raider training camp.

"While still not specifying the injuries Javon Walker sustained in his Las Vegas attack, Kiffin said the wide receiver will practice with no restrictions related to the incident and is in fact in better shape than he was before being beaten and robbed.Kiffin said Walker has lost eight pounds, his body fat is down, and expressed hope that the receiver has learned his lesson about who and who not to trust.  –Inside The Oakland Raiders"

Wow, that really answers some of the questions I wanted to know most.  Is his weight down?  Yes.  Will he miss any days of camp?  No.  Will he be held back in practice?  No.  I may have been wrong about Walker, he maybe worthy of being called a #1 wideout after all.  All the Raider defensive backs praised the injury recovering and out of shape Walker during OTA’s and mini-camps, even though he wasn’t close to 100%.  If Walker can move well at 50 or 60%, then I imagine he’ll be back to elite status if he’s out there at full strength.  But it’s still Javon Walker, so let’s not get to excited yet.

"Kiffin conceded his demeanor in Year 2 will be different than as a rookie coach. The reason? He has already implemented a program and now he has veterans to help him carry it out."

Asomugha in on time, all the draft picks signed by the start of camp, Walker looking healthy, Kiffin a little older and wiser; that’s what I call a good start to the first day.
