Thoughts on the DeAngelo Hall situation
The Oakland Raiders released starting cornerback DeAngelo Hall yesterday. This comes halfway through his first season with the Raiders. What makes the move so shocking is that he signed a 7 year, $70 million deal after his trade from Atlanta. He’s been less than stellar on the field lately, but is that enough reason to make such a drastic change?
Let’s hear some feedback. There have to be some strong opinions on a change of this magnitude.

My opinion is that the move doesn’t make sense. I understand Awful Al is trying to send the message that he isn’t happy with the output on the field. I’m not a DeAngelo fan, but he probably deserves more than 8 games to show what he can do. The defensive scheme Oakland uses is far different than what he had at Virginia Tech and Atlanta. Awful Al has already invested a fortune in Hall. He could have given him the rest of the season to see if he got it together.
If sending a message was the reason, he had a lot of other poor performers to choose from.
