Aaron Murray, QB Georgia

6-0, 207lbs

2013 season: 3075 yrds, 26 TDs, 9 Ints

Aaron Murray is an experience stand-out, who has all the intangibles necessary for a NFL quarterback. Torn ACL ended senior season, and he could not participate in off-season activities.

What I like: If Murray were 6-5, he may have been the first QB selected in the draft. Unfortunately he is not. Murray is tough, smart, and experienced, playing in a pro-style offense against tough SEC competition. Has good mechanics and adequate arm strength.

What I don’t like: I hate to knock Aaron Murray, he is a prospect that has grown on me. Obviously the ACL injury is a concern, but not a big one. Same goes for his size, under 6-1. My biggest knock on Aaron Murray is his lack of “It” factor. Can Murray rise to the occasion and carry a team? Is he a Franchise QB? I do not see a playmaker in Murray, nor a QB who can be clutch. Hope he proves me wrong.

Pro Player Comparison, Matt McGloin: Hate to do this, but watching Aaron Murray, was a lot like watching Matt McGloin for the Raiders last year. This isn’t necessarily a knock on Murray, he is definitely a better prospect than McGloin coming out of college. But I still see a lot of batted passes, along with physical and athletic limitations, that are hard to overcome in the NFL.
