Besides, if you haven’t heard by now, the Oakland Raiders fan-base (Raider Nation), has been calling for General Manager Reggie McKenzie to sign Jackson.  It’s been all over social media and trending all around the world under #DJaxToOakland.  Look, we here in Raider Nation know what it’s like to be labeled, and the Raider Nation won’t judge Jackson based on his off-the-field activities, as long as he’s producing on the field.  Bring those 82 catches for 1,332 yards and 9 touchdowns to the Silver and Black, because the Raiders need a playmaker.  The Raiders struggles over the losing years have stemmed from a number of things, and the receiving corps and special teams are a big part of that.

Look, as a member of the greatest Nation in the world, the only Nation, the Raider Nation, I’m here to tell you that stereotyping is wrong.  The Raider Nation has been accused of being gang members, hoodlums, hell raisers (OK, true statement), thugs, miscreants, a prison ward, etc…  Why?  Is it due to the fact that we are very passionate about our team, the Oakland Raiders?  So what!  We, the Raider Nation, believe in the Oakland Raiders, and we will defend it no matter what.  If you don’t like it, too bad!  Still, they, the others, want to place a label on us.

DeSean Jackson is that lights-out dynamic player who can take it to the house on “Any Given Sunday!”  He is worth the money that he is demanding.  It just so happens that the Raiders can pay for the production.  Not to mention that this would be a homecoming for DeSean Jackson, and we all know that most players play better in front of their home crowds.  Come on Reggie, sign him up!  #DJaxToOakland baby!

As always, nice read. And once again, total agreement.

A buddy of mine grew in Compton. His best man at his wedding that also grew up with him has a Super Bowl ring.
A while back I asked him about growing up around gangs. He told me ” you can’t be from Compton and not know gangs, Compton is gangs”.
Any athlete from that area has gang connections because it was part of there origins. That doesn’t mean that after the game they pick up there A K and start banging.

1- Eagles knew that DJax had gang friends in 2011 when they resigned him to a big contract.
2- DJax has never been charged with a crime.
3- As Mark Shafer mentions below, growing up in S. Cali ensures that you are going to have friends who are gangbangers. That does NOT make you a gangbanger, however.

I am an Eagles fan but if this is the reason they released DJax, I would be surprised. I think the real reason is $$$.
