Leading up to the NFL Draft, Just Blog Baby columnist and podcast cohost Rory Anderson will update his three round mock draft with comments from JBB editor Chase Ruttig. With March coming to an end here is our board after a batch of pro day’s and free agency shakeups changing the needs of certain teams.

Intro

After a while mocks become extremely repetitive and tend to lack diversity as mass group think tends to set in. Because of this, Chase is allowing me now that we have moved beyond the main thrust of free agency to begin to add in trades. Over the next few updates I will explore the various options not only the Raiders have, but also the varieties of trades that can happen to shape the later rounds. I will not go crazy with trades only a handful in each update and they will be said up front. Please remember that the draft trade value chart is a guideline not a rule and trades are in fact a completely free market.

Trades

Trade 1: Buccaneers trade first round (7th) and a third round pick with Texans for first overall pick.

Trade 2: Vikings trade a first (8th), third and fifth to Raiders for fifth overall pick.

Trade 3: Ravens trade first (17th) and second round pick to Raiders for eighth overall pick.

Trade 4: Raiders trade Denarius Moore for a fifth round pick to Panthers.

This would be ideal for #TheOnlyNation

One month left and version 10? Really?

  • gdubb

This is another absurd mock Draft.you actually think the Texans will give up the 1st pick for basically nothing. in all reality it’s going to take multiple picks these year and next year.2nd the jaguars will Draft a qb at 3 and the steelers don’t need another O line man especially their 1st pick.Im giving up on mock Drafts, my 8 year old son can do a better job guessing

  • manbearpig01

he’s from canada, what else is there to do?

  • manbearpig01

trading up isn’t the vikings style and i definitely don’t see them doing it for bridgewater

  • Tyler Erhardt

Are you kidding me?! So the 5th pick is more costly than the 1st pick?! Makes no sense… What’s worse is you have us taking the 5th/6th best QB first overall??! Vikings/RS isn’t that dumb.

  • Sergio Surroco

No MIKE EVANS IN 1st Round? What you smokin homie… Lol

  • Bob

    I guess you are right.

  • chase ruttig

This is our first post free agency mock so settle down mate.

  • chase ruttig

We have him going #8 to the Ravens so I will have what you are smoking. Probably is stronger.

  • Bob

That is the problem. You do mock drafts before you know team needs.

  • chase ruttig

That is why you adjust the mocks accordingly.

  • Bob

You lose credibility that way. You have with me.

  • bigninaross

    Lmao!

  • DanfromVegas

Settle down people. It’s just a mock draft.

  • chase ruttig

    LISTEN TO THIS MAN.

  • Stephen

The Bengals need secondary help not another wide out

  • KloverJane

Mock Draft is entertaining but every time I see the mocks and then what the Raiders do I get angry. There is no way we are drafting another CORNER BACK!! What in the holy hell is that strategy? That had better not happen. Teach the ones we have to turn around and intercept the ball. Absolutely asinine!

  • GUMP

Interesting. I don’t think some of the trades listed will occur but interesting none the less. I like gettng others views on what is happening. thanks for the article

CB is the raiders thinnest position and that is saying a lot for a 4-12 team. Yes Brown is a great pick up but in the NFL and especially in the AFC west you need three exceptional CBs. I like Rogers but he left his prime a few years ago and I think that he will end up backing up Woodson and playing more FS and in 6 DB sets. I would not complain if the Raiders picked up another CB. If he had the Raiders selecting Punter or Kicker I would be upset but not CB or most any other position for that matter.

  • Denis Gagne

I would be in Heaven if this scenario played out.!!!

  • Josh Carley

Why would anyone take clowny. Cuz of one hit wonder. Kyle van noy from byu was better in 1 bowl game than clowny was whole career. I know he was stand up d end in 3-4 but check out 1 game stats. Recorded 3.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two touchdowns, one interception for a 17-yard TD return, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one blocked kick in BYU’s Poinsettia bowl win vs. San Diego State
That’s 1 game. And a bowl game ie post season I hope raiders take him in a late round. Way better character and work ethics

First of all, Chase and Rory put way more effort in covering the Raiders then most of you clowns. Secondly, this mock draft is very plausible given the rationale that the Raiders will want to add as much young depth behind the free agent veterans they added in the off season. No shame in forgoing a high draft pick in a loaded draft like this one. Keep up the good work gentlemen. Also, as a former economic student I love rory’s economic application when he hosts his podcast.
