The Oakland Raiders practice sessions before 2014 Training Camp are officially over as the team finished up their final 2014 Minicamp practice on Thursday, ending their short period of time together as a team before they come back for the long haul that will be the 2014 NFL season.

While minicamp is fairly irrelevant compared to training camp and NFL coaches often refer to the practices as “playing in underwear” the unpadded practices give coaches (and the media as well as fans) the chance to get their first glimpses of the preseasons roster before things get interesting during Training Camp and the preseason where the 53 man roster will ultimately be determined.

However there is no harm in some short term analysis of the week’s practices and with that being said here are five takeaways or things to consider after the Raiders 2014 Minicamp:

I really want to remain optimistic under this coaching regime. Let’s hope they finally put it together. It looks promising. We just need to implement some winning attitudes and let this ball roll on, into a juggernaut that it should be. The Autumn wind cometh!

The Raiders finally took that step in the right direction we all been waiting a long time for. Nice to know our draft picks are showing positive results early. Wouldn’t.count McGloin out as Carr has to pad up & be capable of dealing with a NFL pass rush prior to passing any one up in my opinion. Be nice for Watson to produce & remain healthy! Super excited to watch first preseason game! Go Raiders

Keep Mc gloin as Carrs back up through the next couple of years both learn from Shaub they both know the play book run with the first team wide recievers tight ends don’t have to re adjust to different styles of throws. Build them as the same passer. 123 throw.

Good article, but I don’t understand how we are going to be short at cornerback with out Hayden. I think that we added plenty of c b in free agency and the draft.
I expect both Watson and Jackson will be utilized much this season. One of the two will most likely start when the season begins. Both will get a lot of playing time with injuries.
